Fall 09

Hello yogis and welcome to the Fall semester 2009! It has been a wonderful semester so far, with many new faces amongst the familiar. We have been blessed to have many friends to share our yoga with; I counted 40 participants in last week's class.

I have added some new music to the mix. The inspiration is middle eastern in nature; much of it hails from Morocco. I hope that you love it as much as I do =]
Namaste my friends!

Week 2

What a wonderful week it has been! I've really enjoyed getting to know you all and sharing my practice with you! I hope that you are meeting this moment fully and meeting it as a friend. Some people have asked about the music played during class...week one I used two CD's: The Best of Krishna Das, and Trance Yoga (a compilation of artists). I will be using Buddhist Chants and Peace Music for savasana in this upcoming week. I hope you enjoy it.

Celebrate love this weekend...for friends, family and most of all, for yourself!

Spring Semester is Here!

Hello yogis, and welcome back to yoga at Rutgers Recreation! This semester I am teaching on Wed. evenings 7:30pm at WRC and Thurs. evenings at 7pm over at CAG. I hope to see you all there!
Over winter break, I was afforded the opportunity to visit the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Lenox Mass. It was wonderful...it always is! If you get a chance, go to Kripalu.org and see what they have to offer. I will be incorporating some new hatha yoga postures and flows (like chandra namaskar- moon salutaion) to our practice this semester. I would also like to share a Buddhist meditation technique called metta or lovingkindness with you. This way as we open our bodies and minds, may we begin to open our hearts as well!
Shanti,
Fran
